Steven laird

Elder

Steven describes himself as first a follower of Christ, second a husband, and third a father. He and his wife Megan met at North Greenville College where he earned a BS in Business Administration and later married in 1999. They have two children, a daughter named Lorien and a son named Jackson.  When asked about his passions he stated “my plans were to take the business world by storm and make money hand over fist, so I could give part of it to Jesus." However, God, and my wife, had other plans for my life. They awoke in me a passion for the fatherless and since the year 2000 I’ve dedicated my life to working with children in the foster care system. This work and this passion have kept me humble and dependent on God, as there is much work and few resources. The only way all the work can be done is if God intervenes. And over and over again I’ve seen God step in and redeem what seemed irredeemable.
